Farmingville residents and visitors can enjoy many sports including golf, biking, rock-climbing, softball, soccer and much more. The Bethpage State Park Black Course located just a short drive from New York City was the infamous site of the 2002 United States Open where the rough was rougher than some pros felt was fair. The sign before the course warns: "The Black Course is an extremely difficult course which we recommend only for highly skilled golfers". Island Green Golf Center in nearby Selden offers something for everyone - from the experienced golfer to the novice just starting out. KK Athletics Indoor Sports is Long Island's largest indoor soccer complex, conveniently located in Farmingville just a few minutes from either Exit 62 or Exit 63 of the LI Expressway. The fully renovated permanent structure has three professionally installed and Town of Brookhaven approved synthetic "real like grass" turf fields. No matter what the weather is like outside, you can still play a wide range of turf sports indoors at KK Athletics.

Three Village Soccer and Recreation is a family-oriented facility in St. James, that offers various training programs, soccer tournaments, volleyball games, flag football, kickball, badminton and more.

The nearby Stony Brook Sports Complex is a multi-purpose arena for the Stony Brook Seawolves basketball, swimming and diving, and volleyball teams. The Sports Complex has 5,226 seats and its facilities include courts for basketball, volleyball, racquetball, squash, badminton, a running track, a dance studio, an exercise room, a weight room, lockers, and a pool. The outdoor facilities include tennis courts, outdoor basketball courts, baseball, softball, and soccer fields, multipurpose fields for intramural competition, beach volleyball courts, and a new football/lacrosse stadium.

Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum? in Uniondale has accommodated virtually all forms of entertainment and sports - from state-of-the-art rock concerts and family shows to professional wrestling, boxing, track & field, lacrosse and soccer. It is also home to the New York Islanders, NHL team, the New York Titans lacrosse team and the NY Dragons arena football team.
